Selected works since the 1960s. More will be added continously.

New Stig Brøgger solo exhibition at Galleri Susanne Ottesen features several new series of paintings created since 2012. Most of the works relate to the concept of colour samples - pictures which are normally made as preliminary works or sketches before the execution of the final work. Colour samples are associated with process more than end result. They have a pronounced spontaneity and intensity, an openness for sudden decisions as well as an obvious connection to the studio space. By using the aesthetics of the colour sample Stig Brøgger highlights connections between surface, perception and the substance of colour.

Exhibition runs from October 2 - October 31, 2015.
Private viewing October 2, 2015 from 5-7pm.

What's Happening? – Stig Brøgger in 1965-1975 survey at SMK

Added on by Brøgger.

What's Happening? is a new survey show mounted by SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen. Covering the years 1965-1975, this is the first large-scale survey of Danish art from this period. The exhibition features Stig Brøgger's Pamela installation from 1968, displayed in it its original form for the first time since the 1960s. Brøgger's work Blybilleder / Lead pictures is also on show. Developed in 1969-1971, Blybilleder utilizes slide projectors and closed-circuit video in a reflection on points of view and the relation between artist, media and viewers. The work has been acquired by SMK for its collection ahead of the exhibition.

The show opens on March 26, 2015.
